Overview

Synopsis

Set three decades after the events of the original 1989 series, Netflix's 2023 Akuma-kun ONA serves as a modern sequel and continuation created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of legendary author Shigeru Mizuki's birth.
The story centers on Ichiro Umoregi, a taciturn young genius raised by demons who has inherited the moniker "Akuma-kun." Operating out of the Millennium Research Institute in Tokyo alongside his partner Mephisto III—a half-demon and the son of the original Mephisto II—Ichiro works as a paranormal detective taking on strange cases that involve rogue demons, vengeful spirits, and occult mysteries. While solving gruesome murder cases brought to them by desperate clients, Ichiro secretly works toward fulfilling the long-held ideal of establishing a peaceful millennium kingdom where humans and demons can coexist without conflict.

Quite fun to watch:16: The artstyle pulled me in but i seriously enjoyed how akuma went to solve their cases- it was also fun to learn about their world Honestly this anime totally deserved a manga or a second season but its netflix so i doubt that will ever happen The ending was nice honestly and i like how the characters interacted :3:
