Works over any app — no switching needed
Everything you need to track your anime and manga journey, minus the tab-switching.
A floating, draggable widget on top of any app. Mark an episode or chapter without leaving what you are watching or reading.
Progress syncs instantly with your Otaku Library account. Pick up on desktop exactly where you left off on your phone.
Search the library, review tracking history and browse trending series from the widget — no app switching required.
Three steps. No complicated setup.
Grab the build for your device below. On Android, allow “install unknown apps” once when prompted.
Log in with your Otaku Library account so progress syncs across phone and desktop.
Grant overlay permission, open anything you are watching or reading, and tap the widget to mark progress.
Pick your platform. The recommended build is highlighted — everything else tucks away neatly.
Platform-specific steps — no guesswork.
Safety, sideloading, permissions and updates.
Yes — builds are published on the official GitHub releases page with SHA-256 checksums shown here. Only install files linked from this page. On Android you will see an “unknown app” prompt because the APK is sideloaded rather than from the Play Store; that is expected.
Android blocks installs from outside the Play Store by default. When you open the APK, allow it once for your browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.), then proceed. You can revoke the permission afterwards.
ARM64 fits virtually every phone from 2015 onward — it is the highlighted recommended build. Use ARM 32 only for very old devices, x86_64 for emulators/Chromebooks, and Universal if you want one file that runs anywhere (it is larger).
Yes. The widget syncs progress to your library account, which is what makes phone ↔ desktop handoff work. Sign-in happens inside the Companion app after install.
“Display over other apps” so the floating widget can sit on top of video readers and players. No accessibility-service access, no contacts or SMS — just overlay plus internet for syncing.
Not yet — iOS does not allow system-wide overlay widgets the way Android does. iPhone and iPad users can still use the main otakuslibrary.com site, which works fully in mobile Safari.
Check this page or the GitHub releases for new versions. Install the new APK over the old one — your login and settings carry over. Windows/Linux builds update the same way: download and replace.
