"Normal Duke" is a meta-comedic satire of the ubiquitous "Duke of the North" trope found in modern Isekai and romance webcomics. The story follows a Duke who is perfectly aware of his role as a secondary lead and emotional support character. While the world around him is filled with dramatic political shifts, arranged marriages, and cursed objects, the Duke remains a bastion of normalcy—or perhaps just extreme apathy. He performs his duties off-screen when the plot demands it and focuses on being an "attractive background element" otherwise. It is a refreshing, tongue-in-cheek deconstruction of romance tropes where the male lead's greatest challenge isn't a rival suitor or a dark curse, but simply having to deal with "plot growth" when he'd much rather just be a normal guy.
